Danielle sits down with actress Nafessa Williams, who portrays Anissa Pierce AKA "Thunder," TV's first black lesbian superhero on The CW’s Black Lightning. They discuss the status of representation in Hollywood and the work that Black Lightning is doing to spark change by tackling and mirroring the real issues black people face on a daily basis. Nafessa talks about her experience as a black woman in the entertainment industry, her desire to see more women like her in Hollywood spaces, and the need for black creatives to create their own content in order to carve out opportunities for themselves.
